integrating manual therapeutic modalities for your specific needs

Home

Hello and Welome! Thank you for visiting my website!

I'm Cheryl Denny, licensed massage therapist in Texas #036268
I offer full-body table massage in an office/studio environment in south central Austin.
I also offer on-site chair massage for offices, schools, events and festivals.

You may be looking for a new massage therapist; someone who can understand your current issues, whether they be chronic pain or stress, need for relief from postural problems associated with the workplace or driving...I could go on. You may feel like seeking massage for helping with detoxing from illness or years of an unhealthy lifestyle. You may just need to relax, to feel more movement in your body. There are many reasons for getting a massage.

As a therapist who has been working for many years I bring experience, skills, and compassion to my work. I specialize in tailoring a massage session or group of sessions to your particular needs.  I practice "integrative" massage, possibly using a combination of modalities or practices in a session. Manual therapies including Lymphatic Drainage and Cranial Sacral are sometimes used in a massage session but are also stand-a-lone therapies.

I have been actively practicing for about 12 years following my basic education in massage and then in clinical and structural bodywork. The following is a short list of modalities in which I have been trained and may use. Descriptions in detail are listed on the Services page.

Swedish or relaxation

Deep Massage

Clinical and Structural*
*Included are Trigger Point Therapy, Myofacial release and unwinding, deep massage, active and passive stretching

Lymphatic Drainage LDT

• Cranial Sacral Therapy

The Trager Approach™

• Chair Massage (corporate, schools, events)

I would enjoy helping you on your path to optimal health and healing. Massage is a wonderful adjunct to other therapies such as chiropractic, physical therapy, personal training, yoga. I also recommend a holistic lifestyle which includes healthy eating, proper exercise, relaxation, connecting socially, service to others, and meditation or engaging in a personal spiritual practice. There are several pieces of our lives which need to be in balance so we feel whole and happy!

NOTE: Acute pain that doesn't subside or gets worse needs to be addressed by a health care professional, but chronic nagging tension is usually well addressed through soft tissue therapy.
